In the notes to Simon Fraser's Collection this reel is claimed to be an authentic pipe reel. Since it was arranged for fiddle with a range wider than what is possible on the pipes it's difficult to know how the original setting might have been. Above is a pipe setting as played on The Captain's Collection CD. It's equally possible that as a pipe reel it may have been created using B minor fingering.
