This popular pipe reel apppeared in the mid '20s in Ross' Collection of pipe music (Vol. 2) and later in other pipe books such as the Scots Guard etc. Cape Breton fiddlers tend to play the melody differently likely due to a piping movement which is both awkward on the fiddle and not suited to dancing . (it suits competition pipers |c/c/c/ac c/c/c/ g2).

First recorded in Cape Breton on a 78 disc by Bill Lamey and Joe MacLean. The setting above is loosely based on Brenda Stubbert's CD Different Strokes
