Dave MacIsaac: From the Archives

CD cover

I can't give From the Archives, high enough praise. Dave's accompanist, pianist Mary Jessie MacDonald, always manages to bring the best out of a fiddler. This recording is no exception. Consisting mainly of fiddle medleys, there are also a number of guitar solos which balance the overall listening experience

Alex Dan MacIssac 1949

In his early years, Dave MacIsaac learned the fiddle from his father, the late Alex Dan MacIsaac, and today David has an individualistic oldstyle, very rare in this day and age.

I would describe David's choice of repertoire as older Scottish music &endash; both from written and aural sources.
