From the notes of Brian
McNamara's wonderful new CD, A
Piper's Dream:
" This tune was
composed by James Ennis (1885-1965) father to the
legendary piper Séamus Ennis. According to
Séamus it was inspired by the sound of a thrush
which sang each morning outside his father's window. It
won first prize in the Dublin Feis Ceoil competition for
newly composed tunes."
