The composer's original setting and its history is given in Tutor Text and Tunes - a book published in In Ireland during 2015. It is available direct from its author, Tommy Peoples. Above is very close to Tommy's setting (albeit with the addition of a few Cape Bretonisms /ornaments etc). Introduced to many Cape Bretoners through the playing of Arthur Muise who had learned it from Robert Stubbert. Robert got it from one of Tommy's mid '70s recordings. Composed and played as above with an AABBCC structure, when playing solo, I often find myself preferring AABC.
