Donald Angus Beaton (1912-1982) was one of the most influential Cape Breton dance fiddlers of his generation. His tasty settings of tunes and great rhythm along with the lift in his music made him constantly in demand for square dancing . This recording has been assembled from home recordings made in the 1970s. It includes many of the classics of Scottish and Cape Breton fiddling in medleys alongside of his own compositions ( tunes often mistaken for 'traditional')
