features a number of rare and unusual settings that have
never before been recorded, including several original
compositions by Paddy O'Brien (Offaly). Button accordionist Paddy
O'Brien has accumulated a veritable hoard of rare versions
of tunes gleaned from more than forty years of patiently
seeking out and spending time with older musicians
throughout Ireland. Jamie Gans has been
studying Irish and Old Time music for well over 25 years. At
the time of the recording he had been playing with Paddy for
about 15 years. The resultant fiddle-accordion duets are
as tight as you will ever hear! Daihi Sproule is one of
the most sought after accompanists in Irish music today. He
is best known for his work with Altan.
